Among some of our favorite areas in North Devon are the natural wetlands area of natural beauty, that is Braunton Burrows. here can be found Swans, Kingfishers, Barn Owls and Herons. Extensive sand dune inland terratory is littered with MOD history, and indeed there is a MOD area reserved within the terrain. Braunton Burrows leads out onto crow point, with stunning views of the coastal estery that leads into Barnstaple. Views across to Instow, and Fremington Keys constantly varry with the tide and seasons.
Near the famous Kentisbury Grange can be found the historical estate of Arlington Court. The National Trust Estate covers a beautiful area of valley and meddows. Along with the beutiful house and gardens that look very Jane Austin. Walking around the estate, there is a heronary to be viewed within the bird hide. Deer can be spotted also. A short trip from Arlington Court, Is another beautiful walk, Wistland Puond Reseviour. This beautiful walk, is maintained by the Calvert Trust. Fly fishers can be seen from the shores, and varied birl life can be spotted at differing times of the year.
Lynton & Lynmouth, Heddons Mouth, and Tarr Steps are real hidden gems of the Exmoor regon of North Devon. Whilst visiting Lynton and Lynmouth, try the water powered cliff top railway and view the spectacular Valley of the Rocks. A beautiful river walk nestled in the very center of Exmoor, Tarr Steps is a delight to behold. Heddons Mouth along with Watersmeet near Lynmouth are two of the most breathtaking walking regions in North Devon. Heddons Mouth links though to the coastal path along to Woody Bay.
Minehead, porlock, countisbury hill, this stretch of coastline will test even the most seasoned walkers. Selworthy beacon, with stunning views, of surrounding Dunkery Beacon, and behond. There really is some of the most dramatic and varrying changes of landscape in such a small sector of coast line.
